International Orders
Thank you for visiting MIVU, a small leather workshop in Kobe, Japan. Each piece is made by hand — from cutting the leather to the final stitch.
At the moment, our online checkout can only ship within Japan. If you would like to order from overseas, please email us. We look at each enquiry individually — checking the destination country and the item you have in mind — and guide you from there.
How ordering works
- Email us with the item you'd like (or a link to the product page) and the country we'd be shipping to.
- We reply with a quote — including shipping — and an estimated timeframe.
- If you're happy to go ahead, we explain the payment method individually.
- Once your payment is confirmed, we begin making your piece.
- When it's finished and checked, we ship it with a trackable method and share the tracking number.
Good to know
- Making time: most pieces take roughly 2–8 weeks, as each one is made to order.
- Leather & colours: the body is Japanese chrome-tanned cowhide, in 16 colours. Lining and stitching colours can be discussed too.
- Payment: after you approve the quote, we'll provide payment instructions individually.
- Reply time: we usually reply within a few business days.
- Enquiries: all quotes and orders are handled by email at info@mivu.jp.
Shipping, duties & returns
Shipping cost. International shipping is quoted individually, depending on the destination, the item, and the shipping method. Before you decide, we share the order total, including shipping. Duties, import taxes, and clearance fees are not included.
Duties & import taxes. Any customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees charged by your country are the customer's responsibility. These are set by your local customs office, and we're unable to promise the amount in advance.
Changes & cancellations. As each piece is made to order, we may be unable to change or cancel an order once production has begun. If something needs to change, please let us know as early as possible and we'll do our best to help.
Returns. If your item arrives faulty, or differs from what we agreed, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll talk through the best solution — a repair, a remake, or another option. As each piece is made to order, we're generally unable to accept returns for a change of mind. If a return is needed, we'll arrange the details with you case by case.
Lost or damaged in transit. In the unlikely event that a parcel is lost or damaged on the way, please keep the packaging and let us know. We'll help you follow it up with the carrier. Whether any compensation applies, and how much, depends on the shipping method chosen and the carrier's own terms.
